Dr. Jorge is the Director of the Translational Research Center for Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Stress Related Disorders (TRACTS-Houston) at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center and Professor and Acting Director of the Beth K. and Stuart C. Yudofsky Division of Neuropsychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine. He is an internationally recognized expert in the field of neuropsychiatry, particularly in the study of the behavioral complications of patients who experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, and neurodegenerative disorders. He has pioneered numerous studies investigating treatments for emotional and cognitive consequences of stroke and TBI. His ongoing studies investigate potential interventions for emotional, cognitive, sleep, and hormonal disturbances associated with TBI, Gulf War Illness, and stress-related disorder in Gulf War and OEF/OIF/OND Veterans.
